Freezer cooking ministry meals for her family and others
Jackie Brown is a former high school home economics teacher and community college continuing educator, mom of four children ages one to ten, writer and blogger. Originally from Seoul, Korea, she was adopted at age one and moved to North Carolina where she resides with her husband, David and four children. Formerly an abandoned, homeless child, she shares God’s grace and favor through a non-profit freezer cooking ministry. She founded this mission to feed the local homeless in 2007. Cook and Play Ministries feeds over forty women and children monthly and ministers to her home church of 5000 members.
Jackie incorporates God’s Word as she teaches nutrition and freezer cooking in creative, time and energy-saving ways incorporating God’s Word. She is a frequent speaker for MOPS, women’s groups and churches. Jackie’s written for christiandevotions.us, devokids.com, incourage.me, and blogs for heartsathome.org. Her teaching blog, Mom on a Mission, is where Jackie shares her Proverbs 31 heart’s desire: feeding her family while opening her arms to the poor and needy. Her website encourages thousands of readers to cook and bake in bulk and freeze for others. Her education includes a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science in education and a decade of freezer cooking experience with her five taste-testers.
